SCTC: Industrial & Technology Building

Completed in the Fall of 2018, the Industrial and Technology Building at Southern Crescent Technical College’s Henry Campus includes a diverse collection of laboratory and classroom spaces configured to optimize cross-disciplinary interaction and transparency. Designed by PRAXIS3 in collaboration with associated architects JMA, the 80,000 sf facility houses an Automotive Technology Laboratory, a Collision Repair Laboratory, an Advanced Manufacturing Lab, an Environmental and Water Technology Lab, an Allied Health Laboratory Suite, a Student Success Center, and General Classrooms/Computer Labs. The Instructional Suites were conceived as departmental neighborhoods, configured so that each department retains a sense of unique identity and place. Public Spaces such as lobbies, corridors, lounge areas, and study areas are designed as informal meeting places, organized around key nodes of interaction between the departmental neighborhoods.
