PRAXIS3 is excited to share news of a current project and to also introduce you to some of the new faces in the office.

Georgia Tech Price Gilbert/ Crosland Tower

LP3 architecture, an ongoing partnership of Praxis3 and Amy Landesberg Art and Design, is proud to announce our selection as Architect, along with BNIM of Kansas City, for the $63.8 million renewal of the 230,000sf Price Gilbert and Crosland Tower Library Buildings at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The design team has been tasked with transforming Tech’s central campus library into a state of the art research library for the 21st Century. The iconic mid-century Price Gilbert building will be both conserved and repurposed to provide for Tech’s innovative new research library programs. Crosland Tower will be transformed into a state of the art knowledge facility as most books are moved to an off-site storage center.

LP3 and BNIM will work closely with campus administrators, students and faculty to provide the singular innovations that a new state of the art research library requires. The team will work with consultants Brightspot Strategy (Visioning), Uzun+Case (Structural Engineering), Integral Engineering (Sustainability Engineering) and Newcomb + Boyd Engineers (MEP Engineering), The Sextant Group (AV, IT Design), Rolf Jensen and Associates (Codes and Fire Protection) and The Palacio Collaborative (Costing).

Sarah Butler

Sarah Butler joins Praxis3 as a registered architect, registered interior designer, and LEED Green Associate. Sarah is a graduate of Clemson University and The Ohio State University, and has been practicing for sixteen years. After graduating from OSU, Sarah worked at a design/build firm in Columbus, Ohio, but the winters eventually pushed her back to the South. For the past 9 years, Sarah was an Associate with Pimsler Hoss Architects in Atlanta, working on adaptive reuse, historic preservation, retail, office, multi-family and hospitality projects. She loves design challenges, and her work is informed by her desire to contribute beautiful, functional buildings to our communities. Sarah has two children, and she enjoys playing outdoors, working on her house, and antiquing for mid-century modern furniture. She is a Mentor for Georgia Tech Students through the AIA.

Matt Steinberg

Matt Steinberg rejoins Praxis3 after 10 years working in his own practice designing retail, office, healthcare and residential projects and, most recently, as a senior project manager with Knight Architects designing and managing multi-million dollar LEED Silver projects for the U.S. Army including dining facilities, supply support warehouses, and battlefield training courses. As a Southern Tech alum, he takes pleasure in ribbing his Georgia Tech colleagues in having recently designed Georgia Tech’s Football Team Meeting Rooms, but they’re giving him a pass on a job well done! Away from the office, he enjoys time with his wife and two daughters as the head cook, entertainment director, and repairman and occasionally they let him take his boat to the lake! Praxis3 is glad to have Matt back to add to the firm’s depth in experience, leadership, and ability to deliver exceptional architectural services.
